Albion Business School is established to provide UK standard, tertiary level business and entrepreneurship education to students in developing regions. To do this we need to raise funds and find experienced Higher Education academics who can support use in this journey.
Volunteer/Paid Academic
An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide academic and mentoring support in a person-centred way towards the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for all students enabling them to achieve positive and meaningful outcomes in line with course requirements.
This role will support our students with their professional developments, we seek a highly motivated individual with the skills and experience to join our established team. We are specifically looking for an Academic Support Tutor to work alongside the academic team for BSc and MSc courses. You will have the responsibility of monitoring, liaising with and advising students on generic academic matters and personal development. You will also be responsible for some elements of training these students.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure the strong working relationship with students. You will have the opportunity to undertake continuing professional development, which will in turn have a positive impact on our students.

Research and Fundraising Volunteer/Intern
Albion Business School is a not-for-profit enterprise that provides cost effective, high quality, UK university business and entrepreneurship education in developing nations around the globe. Research shows that education is key to reducing poverty, increasing social mobility and developing economic activity within a country. We believe that by delivering our programmes we can help to support these goals and make an acceptable surplus.
Albion operates by partnering with overseas universities to deliver programmes which develop an enquiring, critical, and reflective approach to ideas and issues, enabling successful graduates to contribute proactively to private business, public or ‘third’ sector organisations, social enterprises, develop new businesses and to the wider society.
We aim to provide programmes globally but will start by targeting emerging economies in Africa, Asia and the Middle East with our initial focus on providing online, blended and traditional face-to-face learning using a range of experiential learning methods to Africa, some of the poorest countries in the world.
The Role
Intern:
This role is ideally suited to someone with an interest in education, developing countries and sustainable development, who is looking to complement their studies with practical experience of the charity sector, or someone working part-time looking to gain more experience in the not-for-profit sector.
Volunteer:
The role comes with a commitment in time of a few hours per week, attendance at monthly meetings, which are held virtually.
Key Tasks:
- To support Albion Business School with research and to facilitate the preparation of external research funding applications.
- To explore and develop funding opportunities from a range of external funding sources, develop and write funding applications that support the main engagement objectives for Albion Business School.
- Tasks are across the full end-to-end process for funded projects, including research for prospects and funding streams and opportunities, writing compelling cases for support along with research and funding bids, developing meaningful relationships with funding organisations and the writing of internal and external reports to grant funders and colleagues.
Key Result areas:
- Effective research for grant opportunities
- Development and submission of highly effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the organisational requirement
- Development of strong relationships with partners and their grant writing teams
- Developing and maintaining professional relations with the fund providers to ensure and check if the information provided meets the requirements
Special circumstances:
- The role requires flexibility with regard to working hours
Contract length: 12 months
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Enthusiasm and a commitment to our work.
